Jackson Pollock Exhibition through May 1
Looking at this Jackson Pollock oil painting, one can easily see that he drew inspiration from Henri Matisse...the bright colors, linear vertical forms, use of black as color, and the confluence between figuration and abstraction.
While reading the plaque at MoMA, it states that Pollock had been inspired by a retrospective of Matisse's work that Pollock would have seen at MoMA the previous year... A Colour Master inspires the drip Master! Even the experts learn from those who came before them.
